Feeding Guidelines

Feeding Proflax Oils

Shake the bottle well, then measure using the provided pipette or cup.

Feed 1ml of oil per 2kg of your dog’s weight – so a 20kg dog, for example, would need 10ml.

Pour over their food, give it a quick mix, and serve.

Feed the recommended dose daily as part of your dog’s regular routine.

Composition

80% pure cold pressed flaxseed oil
20% herbal blend

The herbal blend consists of:

Echinacea: A natural herb traditionally used to help maintain a healthy immune system and overall vitality. Contains niacin, chromium, iron, manganese, selenium, and zinc — nutrients that contribute to normal immune function.

Astragalus: A nourishing herb traditionally used to support energy, stamina, and overall resilience. Naturally rich in minerals and phytonutrients that help maintain wellbeing and vitality.

Withania (Ashwagandha): A balancing herb traditionally used to support calmness, physical resilience, and immune health. A natural source of sodium and iron.

Turmeric: A natural source of antioxidants, including curcumin, which helps protect cells from oxidative stress. Contains vitamin C, calcium, iron, niacin, potassium, and zinc to help maintain overall wellbeing.

Milk Thistle: Naturally rich in antioxidants and nutrients that help maintain normal liver function and general vitality. Provides calcium, magnesium, potassium, folate, and vitamin A.

Gotu Kola: A nutrient-dense herb traditionally used to support circulation and general wellbeing. Contains calcium, manganese, potassium, selenium, zinc, and vitamins C and B.

Liquorice Root: A naturally sweet-tasting herb traditionally used to support digestion and immune health. Adds palatability to the blend and provides additional nutritional support.

Storage & Suitability

Suitability

Suitable for all dogs over 12 weeks of age. Not recommended for pregnant or nursing dogs. Do not use if your dog is known to be allergic or reactive to any of the listed ingredients.

If your dog is taking medication, or you have any concerns about using this product, please consult your vet for advice. Stop feeding 5 days prior to anaesthetic.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark place and keep sealed between uses. Store out of reach of children.

FAQs

Will my dog eat it?

98% of pets do! Flaxseed oil has a nutty flavour and one of the herbs that we include - liquorice - has a very sweet taste so this combination offers great palatability.

What if my dog is taking prescribed medication?

Can I feed Proflax alongside prescribed medication? The short answer is — it might be possible, but we always recommend checking with your vet first.

Some herbs in our formulas can affect how medications are absorbed. In some
cases, it’s as simple as giving Proflax at a different time of day – which is the approach we usually suggest.

But it’s important to be cautious. Certain medications can affect things like blood pressure, the central nervous system, or internal organs – and your vet will know whether a particular supplement is suitable alongside them.

Veterinary professionals are best placed to understand any contra-indications
to the medications they prescribe, so we always advise discussing your chosen
Proflax formula with them before starting.

Take extra care if your pet is on blood thinners or modulators, and please note:

Proflax powders are not recommended for pregnant or nursing animals.

Can puppies use it?

Can I use it with other Proflax products?

You absolutely can feed more one Proflax supplement to your pet at the same time, following a few simple guidelines.

Powder + Oil:

If you're feeding both a Proflax powder and an oil, and the herbs in each are different, you can give both on the same day – just split them between different meals and feed each at the full daily amount.

For general wellbeing, you can alternate products – give a powder one day, and an oil the next.

Oil + Oil:

Want to use two oils instead? You’ve got two options:

Feed half the daily amount of each oil on the same day – either in the same meal or split across two
Or, alternate daily – one oil one day, the second oil the next

Powder + Powder:

If you're feeding two Proflax powders, and the herbs in each are different, you can give both on the same day.

Can I feed Proflax even if my pet doesn't have a condition?

Absolutely! We advocate a preventative approach to healthcare for your pet. Feed a product according to your pet's breed, lifestyle and life stage.

Seems good stuff. I’m having to build to recommend dose very slowly as the smell/taste puts our dog off her food. Hoping it will be good for her - not sure how we’ll tell.

Great for recovering dogs

I have been using this for my dog after she became very poorly with sickness. I liked that it covers support for the organs and liver and used the higher dosage recommendation for 5 days. She is recovering really well and it gives me peace of mind she is getting extra support naturally to help boost her immune system after being so poorly 🙏🏻

I'm not new to the proflax range but am new to this particular product, i purchased this Immunity and vitality oil for my boy with allergies, and just to maintain the good health of my other 2 boys, we had no issues with it in their food at all, and one boy can be quite picky! They've only been having it for a week so no noticeable signs yet, the only thing I would say is, it could come with an easy pour spout as the it does leak down the thread of where the lid goes and can be quite messy. It stays fresh in the fridge for 8 weeks which is great. I purchased the size relevant for my boys so I know it will be used within this time frame, I've used proflax before and have never had an issue, their tummy tastic is an amazing product to use along side this oil to help support the gut. 100% would recommend.
