Feeding Proflax Supplements

Feeding Proflax Oil Supplements

Our flaxseed or fish oil based supplements have been combined with herbal tincture blends, ready to pour over your dog's daily food, whether raw, wet or dry. The combination of flavours in the fish/flaxseed oils and herbs means that even the fussiest of dogs will love the taste.

Proflax oils are suitable for dogs over the age of 8 weeks old. The amount to feed is 1ml for each 2kg of your dogs weight, so if your dog is 10kg you would feed 5ml (half their body weight). Be sure to shake the bottle vigorously for at least 10-15 seconds before every use to ensure that the ingredients are well mixed.

As all of our active herbs are concentrated they will provide support very quickly  - visible benefits have been seen in as little as 2-3 days in some dogs. Proflax Calming supplements and chews have been reported to have worked within 30 minutes!

For puppies over 8 weeks, feed the normal recommended daily amount of 1ml per 2kg of weight as outlined above. To ensure that you are feeding the correct amount according to your puppies size, weigh your dog on a regular basis until your dog’s full maturity is reached.

Every bottle comes with a handy measuring beaker - or pipette in the 100ml bottles - so that you can measure the exact amount of oil required. Each product page gives information on much to feed and how long each bottle size bottle will last.

Every bottle of oil comes with a batch (manufacturing) date and expiry date which is a total period of 18 months. Once opened, every bottle of oil will last a maximum of 12 weeks, but must be kept refrigerated! Oils not kept at fridge temperature will NOT stay fresh for 12 weeks once opened. The expiry date includes the 12 weeks opened period, so please ensure that you open and use the oil by the expiry date shown on the bottle.

Feeding Proflax Powder Supplements (dogs only)

We have five different powders, all of which have different feeding recommendations. Please refer to your product of choice on each of the product pages on this website for feeding information.

We recommend that a little water or bone broth is used to aid mixing if your dog is fed a dry diet.

We do not recommend using any of the Proflax powder products if your dog is pregnant or nursing. Detailed suitability of each powder is outlined on the specific product page together with shelf life and storage information.

Feeding Proflax pure 100% Tinctures (dogs only)

Proflax have one 100% pure tincture Keep off Me! flea and tick repellent. It is highly concentrated and care must be given in order to feed the correct amount of product. It is NOT the same daily feeding amount as the oil based products.

Feed 0.2ml to every 2kg of dogs weight so a 10kg dog would need just 1ml of tincture per day mixed in with their food.

Feeding Proflax Superchews (dogs only)

These tasty soft treats can be given at any time of the day and are designed to be fed either on their own or in combination with Proflax oils, powders & tinctures as part of a total health programme

** Proflax products are NOT recommended for pregnant/nursing dogs or puppies under a certain age (puppies age is stipulated on the label of each product type). Not to be used if your dog is known to be allergic/reactive to any of the ingredients listed or if your dog is taking blood thinning medication (anticoagulants) /blood modulators. For dogs pre operation stop feeding 5 days prior to anaesthetic. Please check with your own vet first if your dog is taking any medication as herbs can sometimes affect the absorption of certain drugs.

More feeding information and feeding FAQ can be found on the specific relevant product pages of this website.

Don’t forget the 'Break' Period

If you are feeding one Proflax product on a consistent basis then we suggest having a 'break' period of 7 days every few months. In this short break period we recommend opting for a general health product from Proflax such as Immunity & Vitality, Omega Vital or Tummy Tastic. A break period isn’t necessary if you are feeding more than one Proflax product.

Should you have any questions regarding the above then please give us a call on 01626 240483 or email admin@proflax.co.uk

We do not recommend that you feed Proflax products to pregnant and nursing dogs or puppies (age of puppy varies depending on product type so please check your chosen product page for details). Proflax is considered safe to take alongside most prescribed medication, however, we do recommend that you consult your own vet with a list of herbal ingredients in your chosen formula to discuss this if you have any concerns or if you think that your dog may be allergic to any of the ingredients listed. This is particularly the case for Proflax oil and tincture products if your dog is taking blood thinners or blood sugar modulators or has a thyroid or gallstone problem.
