Feeding Information
With Proflax, all of the hard work has been done for you in putting together one ready to feed, tasty supplement. Our products will provide your dog with nutritional support from natural food based sources; flaxseed/fish oil and liquid herbal tinctures. They are designed to be added to your dogs regular food to support their total health and wellbeing, both physically and emotionally.
All you need to do is simply add to your dogs regular food!
For all of our oil based products, be sure to shake the bottle vigorously for at least 10 seconds before every use to ensure that the ingredients are well mixed. After opening, please store your bottle of oil in the fridge where it will remain fresh for up to 8 weeks.
How much do I feed?
There are various ways to feed Proflax depending on the level of support your dog needs.
Our recommended feeding guide is to give 1ml to every 2kg of your dogs weight, daily (25kg dog would be 12.5ml). You can also double the amount for extra support, so feed 1ml to every 1kg of dogs weight daily (25kg dog would be 25ml) for a maximum of 7 days and then revert to the daily recommended feeding guide amount.
It is recommended that if you are feeding the same Proflax supplement daily that you take a short 'break' period of 7-10 days every three months. During this period you can stop feeding Proflax altogether or you can choose to feed one of our other products. If feeding 2 or more products in rotation, a break period is not necessary. The break period is recommended so that Proflax products remain as effective as possible.
Proflax formulas are liquid concentrates, so are absorbed and metabolised to provide effective support as quickly as possible. Visible health benefits have been since in as little as 7 days in some dogs, if not sooner.
For puppies over 8 weeks, ensure that you are feeding the correct amount according to your puppies size. Weigh them on a regular basis until full maturity is reached.
We do not recommend that you feed Proflax products to pregnant and nursing dogs or puppies under the age of 8 weeks old. We also recommend that you stop feeding our oil based products 5 days prior to your dog having an operation or anaesthetic.
We always suggest that you check with your vet before giving Proflax if your dog is taking prescribed medication. This is because on occasions, herbs can affect the absorption of certain medication, so it may mean giving your dog Proflax at different times of the day. There are also occasions where medication can change blood pressure or have an affect on the central nervous system or organs so it is imperative that your vet approves your chosen formula taking into account your dogs specific medication.

As a customer of Proflax for a few years now, I would just like to thank Mike and Sam for their continued help with product advice and information and sorting out my many queries! I am a great fan of Proflax and use quite a few different Proflax products for my collies, Angus (8.5) and Hartley-Hare (4) - namely, Mega Mobility, Keep off Me, Plaque Patrol and Tummy Tastic and the Immunity & Vitality Oil. The products are excellent quality and my dogs don't have any problems with them being put into their daily food. The dogs look absolutely fantastic and my 8.5 year old collie x huntaway has just had an 'exceptional condition' check-up at our local vets! I put this all down to diet and supplementation because I strongly believe that prevention is better than cure - and more cost effective in the long-run! My primary aim in life is to keep my dogs as fit and healthy as they can possibly be and I believe that starts from what we give them in their daily diets - the old saying 'you are what you eat'! Great for my dogs health
I just like to reach out and tell you one of the benefits your supplement horny hound has that you might not know of. It has changed my dogs life. My dog started getting prostate issues around 2 years ago after X-rays at the vet he was diagnosed with an enlarged prostrate. He was peeing blood and leaking blood in his sleep. The vet wanted to neuter my dog but I was against it as he is reactive ( noise reactive ) and that could have made his situation worse. Also for his breed Rottweiler I didn’t want him putting on weight or loosing muscle mass that comes with neturing. So I searched long and hard and came across a pill called ypozane for prostate problems in male dogs. That worked but I had to keep giving it every 4 months or the bleeding would start again. and I wasn’t keen on keeping him on that for life as I didn’t know what harm that would do to his body long term. So I started searching supplements I came across nothing that was for prostate problems on male dogs. But then I came across your horny hound and thought I would give it a go. Well Ozzy hasn’t needed the ypozane in 9 months since starting horny hound and no problems with his prostate since or peeing blood. . I know your supplement isn’t for prostate problems in dogs. But it has changed my dogs life massively. I can now control his enlarged prostate in a natural way that isn’t going to harm his health.
