Feeding Guidelines

Feeding Proflax Oils

Shake the bottle well, then measure using the provided pipette or cup.

Feed 1ml of oil per 2kg of your dog’s weight – so a 20kg dog, for example, would need 10ml.

Pour over their food, give it a quick mix, and serve.

Feed the recommended dose daily as part of your dog’s regular routine.

80% pure cold pressed flaxseed oil
20% herbal blend

The herbal blend consists of:

Bacopa: A natural herb traditionally used to support focus, concentration, and calm behaviour. Helps maintain a healthy nervous system and overall wellbeing.

Dandelion: A nutrient-rich herb that helps maintain normal liver, kidney, and digestive health. High in beta-carotene (a source of vitamin A), fibre, and essential minerals including potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, plus vitamins B, C, and K.

Reishi Mushroom: Naturally rich in antioxidants. Traditionally used to support immune function and overall vitality in senior dogs.

Boswellia: Used as a natural flavouring in this product. In traditional herbal use, Boswellia has been considered a botanical source of antioxidants and associated with supporting joint comfort, flexibility, and digestive wellbeing.

Hawthorn: A naturally supportive herb known for its antioxidants and bioflavonoids. Traditionally used to maintain healthy circulation, heart function, and nutrient transport throughout the body.

Withania (Ashwagandha): A balancing herb traditionally used to support mobility, calmness, and immune health. A natural source of sodium and iron.

Liquorice Root: A naturally sweet-tasting herb traditionally used to support digestion and immune health, helping maintain balance and palatability in the blend.

Storage & Suitability

Suitability

Suitable for all dogs over 12 weeks of age. Not recommended for pregnant or nursing dogs. Do not use if your dog is known to be allergic or reactive to any of the listed ingredients.

If your dog is taking medication, or you have any concerns about using this product, please consult your vet for advice. Stop feeding 5 days prior to anaesthetic.

Storage

Store in a cool, dark place and keep sealed between uses. Store out of reach of children.

Will my dog eat it?

98% of pets do! Flaxseed oil has a nutty flavour and one of the herbs that we include - liquorice - has a very sweet taste so this combination offers great palatability.

What if my dog is taking prescribed medication?

Can I feed Proflax alongside prescribed medication? The short answer is — it might be possible, but we always recommend checking with your vet first.

Some herbs in our formulas can affect how medications are absorbed. In some
cases, it’s as simple as giving Proflax at a different time of day – which is the approach we usually suggest.

But it’s important to be cautious. Certain medications can affect things like blood pressure, the central nervous system, or internal organs – and your vet will know whether a particular supplement is suitable alongside them.

Veterinary professionals are best placed to understand any contra-indications
to the medications they prescribe, so we always advise discussing your chosen
Proflax formula with them before starting.

Take extra care if your pet is on blood thinners or modulators, and please note:

Proflax powders are not recommended for pregnant or nursing animals.

Can I use it with other Proflax products?

You absolutely can feed more one Proflax supplement to your pet at the same time, following a few simple guidelines.

Powder + Oil:

If you're feeding both a Proflax powder and an oil, and the herbs in each are different, you can give both on the same day – just split them between different meals and feed each at the full daily amount.

For general wellbeing, you can alternate products – give a powder one day, and an oil the next.

Oil + Oil:

Want to use two oils instead? You’ve got two options:

Feed half the daily amount of each oil on the same day – either in the same meal or split across two
Or, alternate daily – one oil one day, the second oil the next

Powder + Powder:

If you're feeding two Proflax powders, and the herbs in each are different, you can give both on the same day.

Can I feed Proflax even if my pet doesn't have a condition?

Absolutely! We advocate a preventative approach to healthcare for your pet. Feed a product according to your pet's breed, lifestyle and life stage.

I have started using this with my 3 older greyhounds; I only use a small teaspoon every day; too soon to say its outcome; but appears to be full of beneficial products for the older dog....

Great stuff. My dogs definitely have more energy and the one with arthritis is moving a lot easier.

It’s like a drug

The dog LOVES it. And REFUSES to eat without it now. He visibly drools with anticipation
His coat is glossy and he definitely has a spring in his step. Being a SBT we were worried about the gassy potential but we’ve been delighted that we’ve not been gassed.
Only criticism is the pouring is a bit hit and miss it can be messy stuff maybe a pump would be better but that’s just being super picky
