Herbal Tinctures Explained

Carefully extracted herbal support designed to work naturally alongside our oils and powders.

The herbs used throughout the Proflax range are carefully selected for their natural properties and therapeutic benefits. To create our tinctures, herbs are gently extracted using a traditional process called maceration, which helps draw out the plant’s naturally active compounds.

This process uses ethanol as part of the extraction method to ensure the beneficial components of the herbs are effectively retained.

Are Herbal Tinctures Safe for Dogs?

Yes — when used correctly, herbal tinctures are considered safe for dogs.

Although ethanol is used during extraction, only a very small amount remains in the finished tincture and this is then further diluted within our formulations, where the majority of the product is made up of oils or other supporting ingredients.

The resulting alcohol content is extremely low and well below harmful levels when fed as directed.

Why Use Herbal Tinctures?

Herbal tinctures allow concentrated plant compounds to be absorbed and utilised efficiently within the body. Combined with our oils and powders, they help provide targeted support while contributing to overall wellbeing.
